VcloudClient pool

I have a webapp which provides simplified access to a vCloud.

Can anyone tell me if VcloudClient is threadsafe or if I need to maintain a connection pool (the same way I would have a db connection pool)?

Also what is fastest way to check if client has timed out?

I checked Java SDK docs but could not find any guidance and also nothing in javadoc.
